Hopefully, being people who keep up-to-date with what is going on, you were all aware of the proposed sell off of English forestry lands. As this could have struck at the heart of the Ramblers principles, many ramblers made their opinions heard- and given the sell off ideas were withdrawn, it shows protesting can be successful

It is important that as walkers we keep our eyes and ears open for any other moves that may restrict access.

The Ramblers was founded on protest- so let's keep it going!

Sunday 30th January 2011 saw a gathering in Grizedale Forest in Cumbria. What was great was we had walkers, mountain bikers and horse-riders all coming together to give the message: “Our forests are not for sale”
