This event has now been cancelled.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Countryside and Rights of Way (CROW)– Act landmark in granting us access to open spaces in England.
The Spirit of Kinder event, at which we remember the Kinder Trespass as the beginning of the campaign for greater access, is this year celebrating too the rights we have won under the CROW Act.
However we must be eternally vigilant – rights hard won are easily lost. Stuart Maconie, our Ramblers president, is opening and chairing this year’s Spirit of Kinder event on 25 April at the People’s History Museum at 2pm.
We will have speakers including Kate Ashbrook, and music and other presentations by young rangers and the Woodcraft folk; and singing from the Manchester Community Choir. So do come along and join us as we support young people taking the struggle for access forward.
