Manchester and Salford Ramblers have responded to the City Centre Transport Strategy consultation.

We fully support the vision of a zero-carbon city that is “a great place to work, live and visit”, and endorse and share the ambitions of the Strategy. We agree that to make this a reality then there has to be less cars in the city to rebalance street space to enabling walking to be the main mode of travel for getting around.

We strongly believe that to enable more walking, then we need high quality walking routes in the city centre that use the green and blue infrastructure and that also connect to routes around and out of the city - and the Manchester Green Trail and the Salford Trail should feature prominently.
