The City Council has produced a draft Neighbourhood Development Framework (‘NDF’) for Ardwick Green, to help guide the future development and regeneration of the area.

We very much support, the protection of Ardwick Green Park as a local green space at the heart of the neighbourhood to provide community and health benefits and to improve the overall accessibility of the area through walking, cycling and other modes of active travel.
Walking Connections
We would particularly like to see high quality pedestrian connections between Ardwick Green and any future crossing between the NDF area and the important new public park and realm at Mayfield to the north.
Moreover, two stages of our Manchester Green Trail include Ardwick Green
Specifically; Walk 5 comes from Queens Park in via Angel Meadow, part of the Ashton Canal and the Lower Medlock Valley to reach Ardwick Green Park and in the future, we hope to make use of the Mayfield Park to connect with Ardwick Green. Walk 6, starts from Ardwick Green Park and goes on to Gartside Gardens and continues to Rusholme and Platt Fields finishing at Whitworth Park
We would be keen to see this Trail help to promote the green spaces within and adjacent to the NDF Area.
