Ramblers have responded to two separate consultations on developments in Manchester and want to see more opportunities for walking in Manchester!

MIX: Manchester Updated Strategic Regeneration: This was formerly known as Airport City North and an updated regeneration framework is being developed to encompass “advanced manufacturing, R&D, laboratory, and office space with complementary hotel and amenity uses.” We welcomed the commitment to walking, wheeling and cycling through the site and made specific comments to strengthen these conditions and also referred to the existing of rights of way and links to the wider area. Holt Town: This is a Neighbourhood Development Framework and again we welcomed the overall recognition of walking and argued that the plan should to build on the success of City Link and realise the potential of the Ashton Canal and also stressed links to Manchester Green Trail. But we had real concerns about the impact of the scale and density of canal side development on Ashton Canal and in the Valley Area. This link will take you to the full submission.
